United Mileage Plus Miles are an excellent currency and allow you to book lots of premium Star Alliance trips. United also serves Sydney from both San Francisco and Los Angeles non-stop. Alas it can be really hard to find available award seats. Business or First on United can be sold out for months. This Flyertalker alerted me to wide availability. I could find dates even in February in business (often for several PAX) and first class from SFO.
This may be a a glitch and not last long - so if you are planning a trip - book it soon. United award tickets can be cancelled and miles will be refunded for a fee.

23394 total miles in total.
Alaska Airlines gives you double miles in March when flying with Emirates.
And if you are having MVP Gold status with Alaska Airlines that is another 100% mileage bonus. Alaska status matches you rather easily. It may be enough to 'buy' status at US Airways and then get it matched?
Unfortunately the fare class is 'V' and it only earns 50% miles. Still that makes it 35k miles earned an about 2 Cents per Mile. This is about as much as Alaska Miles are considered to be worth.
While flying economy long-haul is not really fun - Emirates has arguably one of the best Economy products out there. Dubai is a city very much worth visiting and Manila I've never been too.
