TV through your broadband?

Filed in archive Technology on November 12, 2004

As it seems this idea should soon become reality if the software lioves up to the announcement:

"In Germany, electronics company TC Unterhaltungselektronik believes it has found a way to make sharing movies easier - and legal. By next month, the company will release CyberSky, free software that allows users to share TV broadcast - including films and pay-per-view - over the Internet. When users hook up their TVs to their computers, CyberSky sends the TV feed to a peer-to-peer network, where anyone can tune in - completely anonymously. As long as it only provides the technology, the firm says it isn`t breaking any laws. But the German association for commercial and private broadcasters, VPRT, says it opposes the use of TV signals without the broadcasters`s consent. "
