A Seattle-based company called 'trafficgauge' has launched a new traffic jam warning and guiding system. This is a truly inspiring and handy solution. But don't hold your breath it's just serving the Seattle area.
There have been several attempts in the last 5 years to establish a useful service out of traffic warnings. Germany has seen the mobile phone based and navigation system based traffic warning systems. My personal experience was, they simply work unreliable or inconvenient.
UK has seen a more basic approach to the issue with an egg-like device. Does somebody know the company name?
I personally wonder why it can take so long to establish a bigger network of such a useful service. Maybe the next generation of navigation systems will do while integrating real time instead of outdated FM radio information.
