three years in stealth mode?
Filed in archive Venture Capital on March 29, 2004
VentureWire reports about MarkLogic a start-up that has been patiently in stealth mode for 3 years. It now raised $6 million in funding from Sequoia. Having a funding from Sequoia after such a research phase can only suggest that they really have a kind of silver bullet.
The central messages sound promising:
"Mark Logic content Interaction Server is an enterprise-class database specifically built for content. Our approach is based on a breakthrough fusion of database and search engine technologies. Designed to work with semi-structured and unstructured content types, Content Interaction Server gives you the functionality of a database without its structural limitations. This platform technology enables you, for the first time, to rapidly build mission-critical applications on documents and content. Content Interaction Server opens new and innovative avenues for you to achieve your objectives."
Let's see if we will hear more from them...
