We all have heard the promise of P2P echoing trough media announcements since Napster. Now business plans already adopted an inflationary use of P2P. It seems like C2C has just been changed by a letter.
However the NYT finds another analogy:
It definitely seems very difficult to bring the millions of file sharing users back to a legal alternative. Tim Oren has recently started another round of arguments, that it is about to change for the music industry, not about law enforcement.
However the NYT finds another analogy:
"The current fight over peer-to-peer technology closely resembles a grand battle in the 1990's over encryption technology..."But file sharing is about to succeed:
"If Hollywood cares to learn from the crypto wars, the lesson might be that it is more realistic to adapt to powerful technology, rather than quixotically try to block it. "
It definitely seems very difficult to bring the millions of file sharing users back to a legal alternative. Tim Oren has recently started another round of arguments, that it is about to change for the music industry, not about law enforcement.
