The Marketing Playbook

Some weeks ago John Zagula sent me his book on Marketing - "The Marketing Playbook" which has become quite famous in the blogosphere.
I had the opportunity to read it on a long trans-atlantic flight on this weekend. Reading the first parts of the book I hoped for a range of very helpful marketing strategies that could be applied to other projects. However 90% of the book covers on particular strategy as John calls it "The Drag Race". This is a helpful strategy that let's you ride on the wave the market leader does in your market. John describes with great insight the experiences he had as Microsoft's marketing team that conquered market segment after market segment with the rise of Excel and MS Word.
However that this strategy and implications it had for Microsoft at that time can be so universally applied. John has made a book easy to read and surprising notes but hardly a new must read on marketing.
But decide for yourself and check it out "The Marketing Playbook".
