The art of pitching
Filed in archive Entrepreneurship by tj on January 6, 2005
I just finished Guy Kawasaki's latest book "The Art of Start". I guess a better title would be "The art of pitching a VC". However I really like the book and especially teh style how it is written. It does not provide too many new things - most hints you will have guessed. But it is hilarious and entertaining to read. Don't be afraid 3-4 hrs are enough to pump into your head.

I really liked:

- Why you should explain your business in teh first minute
- Why you should answer the little man
- The 10/20/30 rule (ten slides, 20 min presentation, 30 font size) ... more in the book
- Forget the proven team!
- Understaff and outsource
- Tell new lies and old truth not the other way around

I really recommend going through this book. It provides great insight or affirmation for your thoughts about your venture.
