Telesym receives investment
Filed in archive Venture Capital on September 27, 2003
Telesym has closed an oversubscribed round of USD 12.5 mio. Telesym is a very cool Voice-over-IP application I discovered some months back. The innovation is a bundle of improvements to classical Voice-over-IP they provide. There are clients for PDAs as well as Windows OS. Calls between these clients are free. Telesym features a (subscriber only) gateway to classic telephone network. Something Net2Phone does for most Windows OS since 1996! But Telesym focuses much more on the professional market. The SymPhone N System is designed to serve needs of enterprise communication. It is far away from the popularity that Skype enjoys. But Telesym is on a good way and might have a better starting point to cash in revenues, than most other consumer focused Voice-over-IP providers.
