Stanley and the DARPA Grand Challenge

I guess by now you have all seen the results by DARPA's race through the Nevada desert by unmanned vehicles. After last years failure with noone (or norobot) seeing the finish line amazingly several vehicles made it through.

The winner has been Stanfords Stanley from the Computer Science Department. The team has been releasing some cool videos from the race that you might want to check out:

Also noteworthy the project lead for Stanley was fellow German Expatriatelinks in Stanfords superb research center Sebastian Thrun.
