simplified money pooling

springwise.com reports about new site fundable.org. The idea is to give people who would like to pool financial resources a simple application.

I honestly have no real idea for what I should use this site really. Why should I outsource the money pooling to a third (ideally trusted) party if the closing (i.e. delivery of purchase) still has to be done by a group member?
