My first ever marathon

Nicole and I signed up for the Nike Women's Marathon back in February as we heard so many good things about the event and really wanted to run our first marathon together. So Nicole git pregnant and dropped out but I was still determined.
I trained quite a bit during the year and really had a good time. However the last weeks had been rather tricky - complicated by a first a back and then a knee injury plus jetlag traveling to Europe twice.
However it was enough I made to the finish line
yesterday. The first 4 hours were really fun but the last hour was a lot of pain - but sometimes you have to get through it...As many signs said yesterday:
Life is not a sprint it's a marathon.
