I was reporting
in length some days ago about
mobile.de the once leading platform to sell used cars in Germany. But I missed the best part! mobile.de looks for interested buyers
actually. The valuation is according to several sources around 50 million, although 100 million would be not unimaginable as well. Mobile.de forecasts revenue of 24 million and profits of 4 million for 2003. Several buyers have shown up like
ebay.de,
yahoo.de and
ISA GmbH (a group of Holtzbrinck, Ippen, WAZ and Munich Merkur). According to the article
Grainville Baird is looking for an exit of their 30% stake. Also the founders are willing (or forced by a Drag-Along Clause) to sell their remaining shares. If finalized, the deal would be another nice exit and landmark for the local ecommerce sector.
