I admit I'm not a big follower of main financial news. I recently stumbled upon the 10-K Annual Report filing of Microsoft. My gut feeling was that Microsoft is going through a rough patch and sees most of it's 'traditional' revenue sources declining. But how can I be so foolish - a simple look in there income statement shows a wonderful robust company with the 'clients' and 'business' section of their business 'drowning' in billions of profits.

Microsoft is thriving

Sometimes it pays to take a closer look. Take a look at their Annual Report - it may be an eye opener...

MSFT is still blue chip, but the real revelations come when you do historical comparisons of growth rates. Afraid MSFT is nowhere close to Google on that front. At least not in the recent past, and definitely not in the recent future.
