Rebecca points me to Wikinews the new project of wikipedia.org. No doubt it would be very beneficial site and worth trying out. Edward has started the living in series a while ago. This series of sites from all over the world aggregates blog content on economic and political issues and re-distributes it. While most of the sites have become slick aggregators of a lot of nonsense I still think an English speaking OhMyNews version would be a great idea. There are so many people in all parts of the world nowadays with decent equipment for writing colorful articles. Just somebody has to make sure only relatively reliable and "newsworthy" content is inserted into the feeds. Then it could be a great addition to the main wire services.

But what I like especially is the vote feature - it's an interesting to concept to prove demand by let your existing user base vote if a new venture would make sense. Sure this gives you a lot of exposure beforehand but I'm curious how it develops. You may give it vote by yourself...
