Paul Allen writes about start-up Insider Pages:
There is no doubt - sites with user generated content thrive on a community of independent authors and provide a lot of content for close to zero cost. However the tricky thing is to reach a critical mass initially and provide good content quality over time. epinions.com have found it hard to maintain content quality over time and provide fresh unbiased content on a large scale.
My first tests with Insider Pages were impressive. Let's see how it develops - could be great...
"Today I discovered a new Idealab company called Insiderpagesthat is focused on the local yellow pages market. All the local
listings are created by users. "The yellow pages written by friends",
it says. Launched in November, the site has a 1 week Alexa ranking of 50,000, which is excellent for such a new site."

Take a look at http://click2connect.com
Theirs is a local business directory listing service that offers users highly targeted search capabilities and filtering of those results. For good measure they have added some great social features to allow users to share their listings and related information with friends and family.

. Theres not only shows the business' contacts, but the prices of their service, the credentials of the providers, and the reviews (just like insider). Personally i think their are too many locals coming out, and only about 3 will be on everyone's bookmark list. And i do think Wuraweb will be one along with the other traditionals like yellowpages b/c there are some that wont even find out about locals with reviews.
