The IT industry is typically not a big domain for women. It's actually the opposite and it's quite impossibly to find enough women in the top ranks of most companies. Having said this, there are noteworthy exceptions - the career of Ms. Padmasree Warrior, Chief Technology Officer at Motorola is one. I honestly have never seen a women serving as CTO in a major company so far. She was promoted CTO of Motorola in January 2003. She received her bachelor from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in New Delhi, India (probably the best in the country) and her master (in chemical engineering!) from Cornell University. Afterwards she worked herself through the ranks at Motorola. Amazing!
