Hasso Plattner starts HassoPlattnerVentures
Filed in archive Venture Capital on June 27, 2006
Hasso Plattner, co-founder of SAP has started his retirement do-good fund called HassoPlattnerVentures. No big guessing who invests here and runs the fund - here is what Tech Confidential says:
"Hasso Plattner, one of the four founders of German enterprise software giant SAP AG, says he's raising a €50 million fund to back startup companies that will be housed in a new incubator he recently established in a renovated villa, sandwiched between the Hasso Plattner Institute and the Potsdam-Babelsberg film park.
Plattner, 61, said he would commit up to half of the target capital and that he would also head the firm, Hasso Plattner Ventures, with Eran Davidson, 46, an Israeli venture capital and incubator specialist. "
Rumors are that Hasso is very actively searching for first investments and devotes quite some time meeting entrepreneurs. So if you always wanted to have a meeting with Hasso and when you also look for money - that might be the right opportunity.

There is no record of a the homepage at http://www.archive.org
so I was a little confused. But apparently the first press releases came out in June 05.
Thanks!
