FDI figures for 2003
Filed in archive Global Economy by tj on September 17, 2003
A.T. Kearney has published the latest FDI figures for 2003 (sorry but the 2003 report seems to be only available in German as of know). The overall investments have shrunken from 824 to 651 billion USD. It comes as no surprise hat China is attracting the biggest part of cross border direct investments. China is supposed to attract USD 57 billion this year. China is still the top destination for most top managers according to this survey.
Within the EU Germany has taken the lead and plans to attract USD 38.1 billion in 2003. The report also shows the strong trend in outsourcing and offshoring. For the first time since 1998 the emerging markets account for majority in the Top 10. Besides China - Mexico, Poland, India, Russia and Brazil have strengthened their position in the ranking.
