my people
is a VOIP provider that provides a lot of extra services like reminder calls, wakeup calls, call back for cell phones. I'm using voip.net. It does fewer tricks but has a great plan for 500 national minute.

Eqo Communications promises to be the Skype for your cell phone. It uses your Skype contacts on your cell phone and integrates SkypeOut and connects cell phones. Not 100% sure how it works though - quite confusing.

Zinkkat is making a wireless device that allows you to listen to all stored media in the wireless space. Nice idea but looks a little clunky. There is no display - instructions and menus come through voice. Who want to voice navigate 100 GB MP3?

Transparensee (nice transcription btw) is focusing on structured search. Transparensee adds fuzziness to structured search i.e. for product specs or houses. Definitely they have focus.

Nexidia is promising a real audio and video search. It looks a lot like Blinx but seems to work great at least for a limited amount of content. Maybe Google wants to take a look at them? The presentation lacks the 'AHA' Riya brought yesterday. The company licenses the software - let's see what happens.

Kosmix promises a new search engine that has the new recipe for making a difference - a new pagerank? Kosmix categorizes all search results (remember Vivissimo?) and also sorts by authority of the category. It currently powers a Health, Travel and Politics. The searches presented look pretty neat - give it a try!

Truveo now part of AOL shows some great things about the actual search engine at Truveo and the upcoming new video portal at aol.com/video.

Truveo promises to make search as simple as web search and seems to have good tools in stock for this. Still the basic problem remains that there is only so much good freely available online video content out there.

Hear the podcast with presentations from my people, Eqo Communications, Zinkkat, Transparensee, Nexidia, Kosmix and Truveo.

Panoratio seem to be an amazing tool to inquire large databases. The tool shows amazing speeds with huge databases. Interesting.

Zimini is taking on the coupons game again. Coupons are all online in Zimini and available on all devices. Mmh not sure if I would want to go in this thing again...

SproutSystems helps you to organize your emails. It utilizes tags, RSS feeds and uses automated templates to help you cope with the flood of emails. Looks all good but folks are locked in MS Outlook and it's hard to get them out there.

Eeminder is yet another tool to mobilize your work information. DEMOfall had a couple of these startups.

Tasks, Calendar and Emails are synced and kept update by an AI that also screens your emails for upcoming appointments.

Iotum marries MS Outlook with phone calls. One cool application they showed is a self initiated conference call.

Open Connect concentrates on optimizing the old green screen interfaces often used in Financial Services. OC draws a business process by observing the live processes. Once determined the processes can be transformed into a smoother web app. I like this approach.

Sharpcast helps you to unify your storage experience by organizing photos on a desktop, on the web and on your cell phone. The beauty is that you can work in your desktop and have full speed while using the online version as a backup and 'out-of-office' tool. The cell phone access looks pretty neat.

The idea is that through open API more applications will connect to the SharpCast workspace. Nice finish of the presentation.

LocaModa has a product that displays SMS messages on a plasma screen and on the web. Well we have seen this earlier.

Hear the podcast with presentations from Panoratio, Zimini, SproutSystems, Iotu, Open Connect, Sharpcast and LocaModa.

But its just one of the applications they have in stock - Locamoda also powers Streetsurfing that uses a cell phone as a remote control for outdoor interactive advertising.

BroadRamp seems to be an integrated player for video, audio and sophisticated graphics that streams very quickly. The video starts pretty quickly. BraodRamp's appeal is pretty bold but that may be also the doom. Why change so many working technologies to have a new not interoperable one that is slight better?

Yahoo Photos claims to have 2 billion photos in stock. Yahoo has learned from Flickr and introduced Drag and Drop, Inline Editing, Tags, Customized Slideshows and more.

Vizrea is a camera phone service that helps to publish and share pictures and audio. Looks pretty good but surely has some competition. But Vizrea already comes bundled on Nokia phones and wants to move into more content areas soon.

Smilebox is an online scrap booking service. It has some amazing designs for albums and greeting cards. Also the slideshows look good. They must have a bunch of very creative designers and developers. Looks pretty cool - could be a new category.

VividSky is a remote control for you in a stadium. You can order drinks, see replays, see standings and stats on a PocketPC device. These guys seem to have spent too much time with their PocketPC and with free Wifi while the game was going along. Now this idea comes to the masses.

NewsGator shows an XML-HTML parser that saves you to parse the XML feed of other sites (in order to integrate it into your site). The Newsgator functionality helps you to sort and categorize the subscriptions of feeds. So it's a co-branded ASP feed reader for publishers. Interesting.

Simplefeed builds RSS feeds that look great (with pictures and multi media enclosures) and can be filled by scrapping websites. They have even solved the access prevention for feeds. Cool.

Hear the podcast with presentations from Yahoo Photos, Vizrea, Smilebox, NewsGator and Simplefeed.
