Gravee is coming up with a strong proposition - search engines take too much value out of content owners sites.

So Gravee came up with a fairer ad split for their search engine. The search engine also makes use of tags, bookmarks and lets users vote for useful content.

Neat but it's difficult to create a critical mass.

Polyvision presents a new product called Thunder for Online Conferencing. It's basically an electronic flipchart - no online demo unfortunately - too big they say.

VSee Labs (sounds like VC) a video conferencing system that seems very easy to use. VSee also claims that the video can be transferred through less bandwidth and updates the picture faster. Simple presentation but funny and very helpful - cool.

Kaboodle is developing a comparison shopping engine. The secret sauce - you create the comparison page! You simply bookmark an item you think about buying and Kaboodle strips the bookmarked page in inserts it into your Kaboodle comparison page. Combined with tags and comments and annotations such a site becomes great Google Juice.

Kaboodle is a little like epinions but much simpler and easier to use - and very scalable once it gets some community traction - Kaboodle is hot!

Plum is a family run business (hehe) and helps you to organize web content. Plum collects pretty much all the content that can't hide (Emails, Flickr, Itunes, Web Pages). It also features shared palylists. Seems all pretty amazing, but personally I'm not sure if I want to put all my content in one bucket.

RawSugar helps to organize and categorize sites. Not really sure what it does but it adds hierarchy to web pages without or less hierarchy.

Hear the podcast with presentations from Gravee, Polyvision, VSee Labs, Kaboodle, Plum and Rawsugar.

Riya already has created some buzz earlier. Riya takes your photos (AJAX enabled) - very smooth interface. Riya is stunning with its interface and the image searching capabilities. Riya detects text and faces in images and seems to do so very efficiently. Great performance!

Tagworld says it's a much better version of MySpace. Tagworld has added another functionality to Social Networking - 'Social Shopping'. It allows you to sell items to pals and others. Marriage between ebay and myspace? Tagworld is pretty cool but I have no idea if the shopping part is so cool.

Another service with Social Shopping is Miaplaza although based on recommendations and not on straight selling.

Guys also announced their funding from DFJ. Congrats!

Krugle highlights an interesting niche. Coders more and more compile code and less and less write code. The tricky part is often to find the right open source code.

Krugle is a vertical search engine for source code. Krugle also has a code highlighting inbuilt and navigates most open source repositories.

Cool idea but it needs a bit more work if you ask me.

Jitterbit is an Open Source (!) application that helps you to parse web services. The presenters claims its simple but we run through a dozen of screens here to set up an Amazon web service. However the results shown are stunning. Completed parsings can be shared at jitterbit.com. I'll surely give it a try.

IPSwap is a marketplace for IP targeting consumers. IpSwap lets you RFP improvements for your home electronics through software upgrade. IpSwap counts on the group of developers around the world interested in delivering this software.

--> IpSwap says - changing batteries today, changing software tomorrow. :)

Hear the podcast with presentations from Riya, Tagworld, Krugle, Jitterbit, IPSwap.

Not totally sure what these panel discussion do here at DEMO. This one is about computation technology and I hope the participants have paid for locking in the audience here. It's rather boring though if you ask me.

LogLogic applies good search technology to log files. The system analyzes all the different log files and gives rule based alerts. The custom reports shown look pretty interesting - so it shows if fired employees have been accessing the system.

Persystent from sunny Florida shows a simple and helpful tool that helps to stabilize Windows XP laptops. Whatever you do to harm your laptop (even viruses) get resolved rather easily (at least in the DEMO).

Avokia shows a database availialibity tool that controls several redundant databases. They can be plugged in and out at any time. If you have a financial services data center to run - take a look at Avokia. Otherwise mmh.

Extricom shows a Wifi optimizing technology that allows you to server more clients with more bandwidth. No word though on where this magic comes from.

Iguitar presents a simple gateway to connect an electric guitar to a Mac or PC via USB. Great demo by Patrick Cummings.

Hear the podcast with presentations from LogLogic, Persystent, Avokia, Extricom and Iguitar.
