Good news - Creative Weblogging will cover DEMO 2006 LIVE.
What is DEMO?DEMO is a twice yearly held event. DEMO describes itself as the premier launch pad for emerging companies. DEMO stands out because each company goes through a rather though selection committee and must prove it has something new and interesting to launch. In addition to the booth each company maintains, the company has 3-6 minutes to present the innovative product/ solution on stage. Important no Power Point is allowed - it must be a real demo. This way DEMO stands out from the crowd of emerging technologies conferences.
What can you expect?
DEMO is such a value to entrepreneurs presenting because of the media attention and number of potential investors in the auditorium. As Jeff Nolan noted a good share of the Silicon Valley VC industry could charter a plane to get to Phoenix. The event surely helps investors to find new trends and identify new potential investments. While DEMO is no investment pitch it has a great track record to get presenters financed.
The last DEMO in September 2005 (labeled Mobile DEMO earlier) had a number of participants who were able to close investment rounds in the 4 months since.
What will our coverage be like?We will tap into the Audio and Video resources and deliver you 'almost there' experience. Additionally we will do our best to get the facts and highlights of each company's innovation and will make a guess if it is a cool product or not. The most inspiring entrepreneurs will also hopefully join us for an interview.
Check here for the coverage so far:

TJ - sorry I missed you at Demo! I was emailing with my old editor at Conferenza, Gary Bolles, the other day, and he asked me what I thought of the show. I said my only regret was that I didn't get a chance to meet many of the other bloggers. I was just so heads-down covering all the sessions, and writing so many posts on-site, that I never had even had time to get to the press room! Hopefully, we can meet at another conference soon. Which one are you going to next?
cheers,
Graeme

Graeme,
thanks for getting back. I have not planned anything for upcoming conferences. Ad:tech in SF will probably be the next one for me. Where are you headed?

TJ - wanted to try to find time to fly out to San Diego for Etech, but waited too long...learned it's sold out! but I also wanted to take in PC Forum, also in SD, just a week later
and I decided that it more my type of event, anyway (as I used to cover for Conferenza) -- so, I hope to make it there...
nice, web too-oh ish theme: "Users in Charge"
