RedHerring reports that Attensa the RSS syndication company scored an investment from the RSS Investors, a private equity fund focused on information aggregation and other cutting-edge web technologies.

"The investment was the first for RSS Investors, which aims to raise $100 million to invest in companies that are developing new web technologies. That includes news aggregation, blogs, new classes of search engines, and RSS applications that aggregate data in the financial and medical industries (see $100M RSS Fund Launched).

Attensa and RSS Investors said the technology can help companies use RSS as a tool for their employees.

"enterprises are getting revolutionized the same way that the media is," says Jim Moore, an RSS Investor partner who is also a senior fellow at Harvard University and a specialist in open technology. "This is going to [enable servers] to pipe RSS around the enterprise."
