about.com revenues

Filed in archive Venture Capital by tj on March 16, 2005

It turns out I was guessing about about.com's revenue slightly wrong:

"According to Primedia, the deal represents a multiple of 10 times About.com's 2004 revenuelinks and more than 30 times its Ebitda. Based on New Times Co. projections, the price reflects a multiple of 23 times 2005 Ebitda."
As the agreed price was around $410 million - about.com had $41 million in revenues in 2004 and $13 million in profits.
