Wired writes enthusiastically about a breakthrough in haptics research. Indeed a convincing solution for a transmission of haptic sensation could be a fast commercial success. The article gives some nice ideas...
However I'm quite skeptical. This sounds too much like AI. It produces a lot of great promises, but hardly a breakthrough application. If you want to watch the thread, have a look on this deeper research.
